A railway project which would connect Quillabamba with the Machu Pichu Hydroelectric Station has entered the bidding stage for the contract. The railway route had been badly damaged by rockslides along its path. The cost of the contract is approximately $31 Billion.
The bidding on a contract for a highway in the mountains has opened. The value of the project is $1.582 Billion. The highway is meant to benefit Junin Huancavelica, Ica, Ayacucho and Apurimac. The project is scheduled to be awarded in the first part of 2025.

25 regions of the country have been deemed to be lacking in infrastructure. Only Lima barely passed the ratings. The gap in infrastructure to metropolitan Lima continues to grow. Huancavelica had the worst infrastructure score of any region.
The airport at Chiclayo is set to be expanded. The work will begin towards the end of 2025.
Peruvian exports will exceed $73 Billion in 2024, setting an all-time record for the fourth year in a row.
