Because of the lack of an English language press in the country, news out of Peru tends to be overlooked by western media. Instead, much of the coverage out of Peru, outside of major events, is largely focused on tourism and internationally important business.

That lack of coverage around politics and the economy means that political corruption in the country goes almost entirely ignored in western media. It also means that the incredible successes of the country are also completely ignored. The people of Peru deserve to be observed for their successes, criticized for their faults, and celebrated for everything they achieve. Peru succeeds as a country and as a destination for the world because of its great people. The world should understand the country that forms them.
